Demand the government reinstate Great British Railway’s public interest duty - respond to the consultation
Boris Johnson’s government gave our railway duties to be accessible and to care for the environment. This government wants to scrap those duties.
Also, their new law only nationalises train operations - that is, who runs the trains in our railway. The trains themselves will still be privatised.
But you have a huge opportunity to change this.
The government is asking for the public’s views on their rail reforms. You have until midnight on Tuesday, 15th April, to demand that our railway puts passengers before private profit.
We’ve prepared a draft response demanding they:
Reinstate the railway’s duty to cater for disabled persons and the environment
Create a publicly owned train leasing company
Give passengers a real voice
Invest in the railway
Can you take just 1 minute to send it to the Department for Transport now?
