I’m really pleased that it’s now Labour’s policy, as agreed at conference, ‘to restore our fully-funded, comprehensive, universal, publicly-provided and owned NHS without user charges, as per the NHS Bill (2016-17)’.The last Labour manifesto said the NHS should be the ‘preferred provider’ and that ‘excess profits’ should not be made. I’m glad the conference motion is clearer and stronger - the NHS should be publicly provided and owned. It’s time to reverse damaging privatisation once and for all. I’m writing to ask you to now sign up to the #NHSTakeback pledge on the We Own It website https://weownit.org.uk/nhstakebackThis simple, 5 point pledge is a way of showing your support for a public NHS.I’m disappointed that there are currently so few Labour MPs supporting the pledge, and I’m writing to ask you to lead the way.84% of us want a publicly owned NHS. At a time when our NHS is being privatised piece by piece, we need you by our side. Please let me know whether you will sign up to the #NHSTakeback pledge and encourage your colleagues to do the same.Thank you for your time
