The National Audit Office must investigate the sale of NHS Professionals
NHS Professionals provides 88,000 doctors, nurses and health professionals to hospitals across the UK. It's a big success, saving the NHS millions by reducing the need for expensive private agency staff. Now, ironically, the government wants to privatise it by selling off a 75% stake. The next step in stopping the sale is calling for an official investigation into the sale.
Justin Madders, the Labour shadow health minister, has written to the National Audit Office to ask them to investigate the sale. The National Audit Office performs investigations into government spending to ensure that taxpayers get value for money, and to expose and avoid abuses of funds. Find out more on their website here.
We need MPs to join Justin Madders in calling for an investigation. The NAO will have to respond to all requests for an investigation, and the more MPs write to them, the more likely it is that they agree.
